Food Pantry

We appreciate—and need—your support! August include peanut butter and spaghetti sauce. We also need medium and large shopping bags with handles for the food pantry. It is especially helpful for those who are walking or taking the bus. You can also pick up a copy of the Food Donation Guide at the Information Kiosk. For additional information, contact Kay Sims. Cash donations are also welcome.

Just Coffee Caffeine with a Conscience

Help support fair trade by buying Just Coffee. The purchase of coffee from the coffee growers and roasters in Mexico helps provide a living wage to families in Salvador Urbina and Agua Prieta, Mexico. For $9 a pound, you can purchase ground 100% Arabica or a 50:50 Arabica/Robusta blend in regular or decaf. If you have questions, please contact Hannah Weir (404 329-1486) or visit the Just Coffee website, www.justcoffee.org. The coffee is on sale in the atrium on Sundays and in the church office during the week.

Build a Habitat House in Memory of Pat Heenan

For the last twenty-five years or so, Shallowford has been involved in building affordable housing through DeKalb County Habitat for Humanity. This year, we will rebuild a house in Stone Mountain in memory of Pat Heenan. We were blessed by knowing Pat for the last five years. He was active in many service activities and served on the board of directors of Habitat until his death in March from cancer. It is fitting that we should honor his memory by rebuilding this house. Rebuilding starts June 26 and should be complete by the end of August. For more information or to sign up to work, email Bridges Smith or call 404-321-0351.
