ROBERT L. CARROLL, JR.
Director of Pastoral Care and Counseling and Head of Staff
Robby is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Columbia Theological Seminary. He holds a Masters of Divinity and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He and his wife Jane have two grown children, Robert Carroll and Jane-Gower Turner, and three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth and Mark Turner, Jr. and Madelyn Lane Carroll. Robby has served at Georgia Baptist Medical Center as a Chaplain and Peachtree Presbyterian Church, Decatur Presbyterian Church as Associate Minister. He serves Shallowford Presbyterian Church part time in the ministry of Pastoral Care. Robby currently is the Director of the Atlanta Center for Counseling and Development and Co-Founder of Developing Dynamic Congregations, a coaching and training ministry to churches. He has earned certification in Pastoral Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Parenting Training, Couples Communication, and the Enneagram Personality Profile. Email Robby |

JAY YORK
Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries
Jay is also a native Atlantan, growing up at First Presbyterian Church where he was ordained as an elder in 1998. Jay received an undergraduate degree in political science from Wake Forest University. His experience in the church and his interest in missions led Jay to Columbia Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. Jay has a great interest in travel. His call to work with youth and young adults has resulted in mission work in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Honduras, Kenya, and seven states. Jay joined Shallowford’s staff in August 2006. Email Jay

EMILY FLOYD
Director of Music Ministries
Emily holds a bachelor's degree in music education from Florida State University. She and her husband Richard have two daughters: Anna and Ella. Emily has served as a high school choral director in Florida and Georgia, as director of music at Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, youth choir director at Dunwoody Methodist Church, children's choir director at Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, and as a conductor for the Northwest Community Youth Choir. Choirs under her direction have performed in Italy (including St. Peters Basilica in Rome), New York, Orlando, and Nashville. She frequently serves as a guest clinician, conductor, and judge for choral ensembles. Emily serves the Georgia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) as the chair for Music in Worship. She also serves on the board for the Atlanta chapter of Choristers Guild. In her spare time, Emily enjoys cooking, jewelry-making, and reading to her girls.

ANN CROUCH
Director of Children's Choirs
Ann M. M. Crouch has been a Choral Director and General Music Specialist in the Georgia for more than 11 years. She earned her Bachelor of Music in choral and instrumental music education and Master of Music Education in music therapy from the University of Georgia, and was active in both CMENC and Sigma Alpha Iota. She earned Kodály certification at the University of Hartford under Dr. John Feierabend; she has also completed Orff Level 1 training. As an educator, she has taught elementary and middle school general music, elementary and high school chorus, and International Baccalaureate Music. Besides her teaching duties, she has directed both children’s choirs and children’s bell choirs, served as an organist, and performed with the Chancel choirs at area churches and with the Atlanta Sacred Chorale. In addition to her work through church, she actively volunteers in the community as a member of the Junior League of Atlanta. She has taught piano privately for ten years. She studied piano with Margaret Strahl and organ with Dr. Jolene Davis and Dr. Timothy Wissler. Her professional affiliations include the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), the Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE), the Kodaly Educators of Georgia (KEGA), and Pi Kappa Lambda. She currently serves as the Southern 2 Representative to the OAKE Board of Directors. Along with six other Fulton County Teachers, she authored Music á la Cart, a guide to teaching music from a cart. A native of Atlanta, Ann Crouch currently lives in Sandy Springs with her husband, daughter, and two yellow labs. Ann joined the staff in August 2009.

Carol Dallas
Organist
Carol Dallas holds a Master of Music from FSU with an Organ Major.
She has over 40 years in the music field, serving churches in Florida and Georgia as organist and choir director and has been on the staff of Shallowford since 2001. She has taught piano and organ privately and has been a music teacher on the elementary and preschool levels for a number of years. Along with her music, Carol has become certified as a neuro-kinetic therapist, teaching groups and individuals how to create brain balance and optimized brain functioning.

TOM BUCHANAN
Director of Christian Education and Programs
Tom hails from Montgomery, Alabama, where he was born and raised in a Presbyterian home. He graduated graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in 1989 with a degree in Anthropology. Receiving a strong sense of call to the ministry in his senior year of college, Tom pursued his ministerial training at Princeton Theological Seminary and received the Master of Divinity degree in 1993. Ordained to the Presbyterian ministry soon thereafter, Tom has served churches in New Jersey and Georgia, most recently as a Director of Education & Youth Ministries at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Alpharetta. In all the places Tom has served, he has been driven by a passion for seeing people of all ages grow in their knowledge and love of Christ. Tom married his best friend and love of his life, Lisa, in May 2006. He has two wonderful, elementary school-aged children—a son, Jeb, and daughter, Caroline. In his free time, Tom enjoys reading, writing, researching his family's history, cheering on the Auburn Tigers, and most importantly, spending quality time with his wife and children. Email Tom |

CAROL PAYNE
Administrative Associate
Carol, a native Atlantan, holds a B.A. in French from Agnes Scott College and diligently uses her skills on vacations. She worked for Herman Miller, Inc. for twenty-one years in personnel, planning, distribution, and manufacturing. After a two year respite from corporate life, Carol searched for a position within the Presbyterian church and found a wonderful home at Shallowford. Carol and her husband, Mike, have been married for four years and enjoy their two grandchildren. Carol joined the staff in May 2003. Email Carol

JOHNNIE B. MATHIS, JR.
Sexton
Johnnie is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated in 1971 from Cross Keys High School. He was first employed by Lay's Potato Chips and later served as sexton in several churches in the Atlanta area. He is married to Beverly James and they are the parents of seven children, and they have one grandchild. Beverly works in Shallowford's preschool and Johnnie joined the Shallowford staff in September, 1994. |
