Discovering the Bible - Great Hall
In this "drop-in" class in the Great Hall, lessons
from the Bible are applied to life today. Geared
for those who prefer a weekly stand-alone lesson,
this class enjoys lively and thoughtprovoking
discussion.
Faithful Travelers – Room 309
Faithful Travelers The Faithful Travelers class regularly tackles topics and issues in theology, ethics, politics, and culture. If you like to think deeply about matters of faith, then this may be the class for you!
Family Steps – Room 209
Expectant parents and those with young children comprise this class. Family Steps discussions vary from parenting and relationship studies to current world and spiritual topics. The Bible is studied and used to guide us I our roles as parents, friends, spouses, and individuals. Family Steps also holds regular socials and encourages member participation in churchwide activities.
The Inquirer’s Class – Heritage Hall
This three-week class provides information for those who wish to learn more about the Christian faith and what it means to be a member of Shallowford Presbyterian Church. This is a great way to hear about the ministries and programs of Shallowford and the fellowship we strive to foster. On the third Sunday, class participants who choose to may join the church after class. Meets at designated times four times a year.
Pairs and Spares – Room 308
This popular class is for anyone - singles or couples - looking for great fellowship, new friends, and inspiring Bible study, with excellent speakers each week. New – and sort of new – members, and visitors are especially welcome.
The Parent Hood– Room 307
This class is for all parents of teens, 6th through 12th grade. Born out of informal gatherings of Shallowford parents of youth away on choir tour, this class will study from the same curriculum that their teens are studying in the youth Sunday School classes, just from an adult point-of-view! This is a wonderful way to learn much, be a more effective parent, and enjoy great fellowship.
The Questioners Class – The Brides Room (Office –level)
The Questioners Class seeks out all the people whose parents and pastors ever told them not to ask so many questions. For many of us, spiritual development has come from dealing honestly with our hearts and minds on questions of faith. We will deal with the conflict of faith and knowledge and seek to grow beyond questions and doubts. Subjects will include contemporary Biblical scholarship and concepts in contemporary theology.
Sojourners – Library (1st Floor)
This class of "collective wisdom” is a seasoned group of disciples who love the Bible, love God and love each other, and who always welcome new friends to our fellowship! Come sojourn with us!
Women’s Class – Burney Overton Room (1st Floor)
Calling all women! Join us each Sunday morning for great fellowship and discussion over selected Biblical and literary material. Coordinated by Carie Cato and Catherine Butler.
