When do you typically meet?
- Youth Sunday School is 9:30-10:30 am, Each Sunday morning we gather together to dig a little deeper into Scripture using a variety of studies, curriculum, and styles. We offer a Jr. High class for grades 6-8 and a Sr. High class for grades 9-12.
- Chapel Choir, our 6 -12 grade choir, meets each Sunday night from 4:30-6 pm. The choir consists of 80+ youth and is an energetic ministry here at Shallowford.
- Youth Fellowship is every Sunday night throughout the school year, from 6-7:30 pm. We share a meal together and then break out discussion and fun group activities.
What are the costs associated with being a part of the youth group?
It’s free! We love to offer a welcoming place for all middle and high school kids to relax and feel like a part of the family. We do depend on monetary donations and payments for many of our trips and retreats. We also ask for $50 each semester to cover the cost of Sunday night meals should you choose to participate.
Who runs the Youth Group?
Bradley was born and raised in midtown Atlanta. Following graduation from Woodward Academy, she attended the University of Georgia, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Behavior. During college, she spent time working at First Presbyterian Church of Athens as their High School Intern and spent her final semester of college living in an HIV/AIDS orphanage in Johannesburg, South Africa. Post-graduation, Bradley began working as the Associate Director of Youth and Family Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, where her love of ministry continued to grow. Wanting to explore her passions at the intersection of faith and health, Bradley enrolled at Emory University and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health and Master of Divinity, hoping to graduate in May 2017. Bradley joined the Shallowford staff in August 2015 as the Youth Intern and Seminary Intern, and now serves enthusiastically as our Director of Youth and Program Ministries. She loves building relationships with the youth, finding ways to engage their faith in new ways, and creating fun programming for our Shallowford community!
