Shallowford Presbyterian Church and other local churches are volunteering with Habitat For Humanity to help build a home for LaQundra Williams and her family. When Shallowford partners with Atlanta Habitat, we join them as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization by building quality, affordable homes. We are creating opportunities for working homebuyer families to thrive and to achieve many other dreams.

Please considering joining us by volunteering on one of our build days! Feel free to invite family and friends to participate on the build as well. Each person must register online individually. The minimum volunteer age is 16-years-old. You may download the volunteer packet here.

Meet LaQundra

An Atlanta native, LaQundra was raised in the Pittsburgh community and is proud to become the first person in her family to buy a home. When LaQundra is not working for Ram Partners LLC., she enjoys time with her two daughters, Yasmine (15 years old) and Brooke (9 years old). Yasmine dreams of owning a salon one day, and Brooke wants to become a classroom teacher/dance instructor. LaQundra and her family share their gratitude for the house sponsors helping make her first home affordable. Like all Atlanta Habitat homebuyers – LaQundra will purchase her house with a no-interest loan. Homebuyers make a down payment of $800, pay a monthly mortgage, complete 250 sweat-equity hours, attend 12 homeowner-education classes, and participate in five financial coaching sessions. Monthly mortgage payments are around $650 and include escrow for taxes, insurance, sanitation fees, a termite bond, and a maintenance savings fund.
