Capital Campaign

Rooted in Faith, Forward in Hope

We’re making a lasting impact…

Shallowford Presbyterian Church is in the midst of a season of new life and thriving ministry. In April 2015, Shallowford’s total membership exceeded nine hundred members for the first time since 1992. We are a dedicated group of Christ-followers, active in mission and ministries to serve our world and community.

We now stand ready to move forward in hope. Through our Rooted in Faith, Forward in Hope capital campaign, we will build upon our strengths to give life to God’s ministries here, welcoming others, for generations to come.

Read our Forward in Faith Blog for the latest updates on construction, renovations and plans in the works!

Here’s a summary of our exciting Capital Campaign needs and opportunities, and info on how you can get involved:

Praise God for babies and all our growing families! This new life brings a dire need for more space and improved facilities. The campaign will provide a new nursery close to the sanctuary and more accessible to parents.

Kitchen
So much intentional community, conversation and outreach center on meals shared together. Our current kitchen is outdated, inefficient and unable to meet our ministry needs. The campaign will give us a complete kitchen renovation, within the existing footprint, so we can support our meal ministries and fellowship for years to come.

Worship of God is our congregation’s beating heart! To honor and build upon our rich history of music and vibrant sacred worship services, we will enhance our sanctuary with:

  • new lights
  • new sound system
  • windows
  • new pipe organ (2016)
  • remodeled chancel (2016)

Food Pantry
A signature ministry of this congregation for decades, the Shallowford Food Pantry will receive a brand new space and integrated receiving area as part of the renovation work of our campaign.

God’s ministry through music at Shallowford takes place through resounding instruments, worshipful congregants and singing choirs of all ages. Our legacy of music and growing choirs require more storage and rehearsal space (Chapel Choir has grown 33% in just three years!). In order to keep our doors open for more singers, we will redesign and expand our choir rehearsal room.

Offices
To serve a growing congregation, we have been blessed with more staff members in recent years and our 35-year-old office is due for a redesign. The campaign will renovate our office facilities to create more adequate and functional office spaces and a welcoming, accessible entrance for all who approach our doors.

April 29 2015 aMission
Honoring our commitment to mission and community ministry, and out of gratitude for the tremendous blessings we have all received from our generous God, we will dedicate 10% of the total campaign contributions to mission partnerships, serving those beyond our doors.

How Can I Be a Part of this Forward Movement?

  • Pray Pray that we would faithfully pursue God’s plans for the future of our church and that God would provide all we need.
  • Tell a Friend Help can come from unexpected places and sometimes all we have to do is ask. Share with others the amazing things happening at Shallowford and invite them to join us on this journey of faith.
  • Give Financially Every amount and every person counts. We are the church, honoring God with what we have been given, and the kingdom work happens when each of us says, “Yes!”

The Rooted in Faith, Forward in Hope capital campaign depends on your generous pledge and is designed to spread your commitment over multiple years. To pledge your financial support, contact Shallowford’s Finance Coordinator, Magalie Nemorin (404-321-1844) or mail to the church office a completed pledge card.
