Childrens Ministries

Here at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, we seek to help our children grow in their faith through a loving, nurturing, and educational ministry suited specifically to their needs.  Children are active participants in the whole life of the church, nurtured by the care of many loving volunteers and staff.  We have ministry activities on Sundays, Wednesdays, and the occasional special event and welcome you to join us any time!  For more specific information on Children’s Ministry, please contact Margaret Evans.

Nursery Childcare

8:30 am -12:30 pm on Sunday mornings
We believe that children learn of God’s love early in life by simply being held and loved. Professionally-staffed childcare for our infants and toddlers (through 36 months) is available throughout the morning on Sunday, during both worship services and the Sunday School hour.  The Nursery Rooms are located in the main lobby of the Education Building, just outside the main Sanctuary doors.

Sunday School

9:30-10:30 am on Sunday mornings

Sunday School classes are available for all ages – children, youth, and adults – every Sunday morning.   Children’s classes are typically divided by age.

Two and Three Year Olds
Nursery Toddlers & Threes Room – Main Lobby outside of the Sanctuary

Each Sunday our two and three year old children gather in the Nursery’s Toddler & Threes Room for games, crafts and singing as they begin to learn about the Bible. Using our Deep Blue Curriculum, we will share with our children the simple truth of God’s love and how we all belong to God’s family.

Pre-K/Kindergarten
Room 202 – Education Building

Each Sunday our PreK and Kindergarten children explore the Bible through exciting stories, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games! Each week provides fun and fellowship, all while learning about God’s love using our Deep Blue Curriculum.

Testament Travelers – First through Fifth Grade
Rotating Rooms on the Third Floor – Education Building

Each Sunday our first through fifth graders have the opportunity to form their faith by playing games, acting out Bible stories, crafting, cooking, using technology and making music. The Spark Active Faith Curriculum is an innovative, intuitive and Bible centered Sunday School rotation program designed to accommodate all of the different ways children learn.
