Hymn Award

Hymn singing has always been one of the important parts of any worship service. In early church history, the hymns were the only part of the service in which the common folk could actively participate. In modern times, the hymns are the central songs of the faith.

Children can earn a hymn award this year in choir. Although we will sing many hymns, a few hymns have been selected for each choir as key for the children to learn. To earn the award, each child should memorize the first verse of all the hymns for his/her choir, and then sing those hymns for the choir director. Opportunities to learn and practice the hymns, as well as sing them individually, will be given during the choir rehearsal times.
