Welcome, Jinhee!

It is with great joy and excitement we welcome Jinhee Kim, who will be Shallowford’s full-time Organist & Associate Director of Music Ministries. Jinhee comes to us from Indiana, where she served as the Director of Music and organist at First Presbyterian Church in Martinsville (2013-2019), and later at Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus (2019-present).

Jinhee earned a bachelor’s degree in Church Music from Yonsei University in South Korea and later went on to acquire a master’s degree in Organ Performance and Literature from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and an Artist Diploma in Organ at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. While pursuing her doctorate degree at Indiana University, Jinhee taught Elective and Secondary Organ and conducted studio classes.

In her new role at Shallowford, Jinhee will lead our handbell choirs and Joy Chorale, Shallowford’s daytime choir for adults. In addition, she will be responsible for planning and executing special music for worship on Sundays.

Jinhee’s first day at Shallowford will be Monday, September 26th. The congregation will have the opportunity to welcome Jinhee during 11:00 a.m. worship on Sunday, October 2nd. She will be reachable by email at [email protected].
