Pray, Worship, & Learn Together

Seeking:

Honest Questions for Deeper Faith

This Lent, we invite you to engage in the spiritual practice of seeking. We encourage you to stay curious, open, and nimble. We hope you will soften your assumptions and expand your perspectives. We pray that our questions each week will create a safe space to explore—to be drawn more deeply into the fullness of life, into the heart of God. Join us for this Lenten series founded on questions.

  • Seeking: Is this the fast that I choose?
  • Seeking: Who will you listen to?
  • Seeking: How do we begin again?
  • Seeking: Will you give me a drink?
  • Seeking: Who sinned?
  • Seeking: Can these bones live?
  • Seeking: Where are you headed?
  • Seeking: Why have you forsaken me?
  • Seeking: Who are you looking for?

Ash Wednesday

February 22, 2023
12 pm & 7 pm

Together, we will gather in the chapel (12 pm) and in the sanctuary and via livestream (7 pm) for a 45-minute service to remember our mortality and brokenness, and be offered the assurance of God’s ending grace and the opportunity for a new beginning. Masks are encouraged in the balcony, along with social distanced seating.

You are dust, and to dust you shall return. – Genesis 3:19b

Sundays

Like the characters in our Lenten scriptures, we are also seeking many things: clarity, connection, wonder, justice, balance. Throughout Lent, Shallowford’s worship leaders will continually ask the questions: What are you seeking? What is God seeking?

Join us Sundays to worship God, be in community, and grow in the study of scripture:

  • 8:30 am, First Worship in the Chapel
  • 9:30-10:30 am, Sunday School for All Ages
  • 11:00 am, Service for the Lord’s Day in the Sanctuary (livestream)
