ATL Pipe Band

The Atlanta Pipe Band

The Atlanta Pipe Band is the pioneering Scottish cultural organization in Atlanta that provided inspiration and leadership for other local Scottish organizations that followed. The Atlanta Pipe Band prides itself on shaping young players into accomplished musicians and encouraging new players to join and learn the art of Scottish music. Under the leadership of Pipe Major John Recknagel and Drum Sergeant Patrick Osborne, the APB’s two competition units are a major force on the competitive circuit.

Leslie Hamilton

Leslie Terrell Hamilton, soprano

An accomplished and versatile concert artist, Ms. Hamilton has appeared as guest soloist with orchestras and chamber music entities in the United States, Europe and Africa.  Her extensive repertoire encompasses works ranging from baroque to contemporary composers.  She has performed world premieres of works by American composers Michael White in New York City, Lee Hoiby in Amalfi, Italy, and Alan Mandel at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC.  Concert repertoire includes the Brahms’ German Requiem, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Bach’s St. Matthew and St. John Passions, and the John Rutter Magnificat, to name a few.  Her credits also include the making of a world-wide operatic commercial for Fresca soft drink for the Coca-Cola Company.

Kevin Tucker, tenor

Kevin is a Georgia native, known for his smooth expressive vocals and genre versatility. He has performed in Concert, Theater and Opera. In concert, Mr. Tucker has performed at the State Capitol, Herndon Home Jazz and Christmas Series, has performed with Fusion Chamber Ensemble, Westside Winds, Still Waters Youth Sinfonia, Moses Hogan Festival. Mr. Tucker has recorded with R&B Alternative Artist Christine Horn and Classical composer, Malcolm Caluori Melpomen Music Group in Dangerous Liasons.

Shallowford's Chancel Choir

Shallowford’s Chancel Choir

Several times a year, Shallowford’s adult choir sings a large work with an orchestra. In the past, this choir has sung Mass for the Children by John Rutter, Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi, Messiah by G. F. Handel, and Requiem by Johannes Brahms, just to name a few. The choir sings in a variety of styles of music from baroque to bluegrass, classical to gospel, and hymn-arrangements to jazz. The choir is under the direction of Emily Floyd, Director of Music Ministries.

Travis Hall

Travis Hall

Travis Hall, an Atlanta Native, recently graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. He was awarded the CBCF Performing Arts Scholarship in 2016 and was a finalist in the 2019 southeast region “NATS” competition of the same category. Most recently, Travis performed Monostatos and covered Tamino on full scholarship in Steamboat Opera’s 2021 production of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”.
