What is SPW?
Shallowford Presbyterian Women (SPW) are diverse in background, talents, and personalities. All women are always welcome. We serve God in many ways: as elders, as Sunday School teachers, through mission activities and trips, as choir members, through SPW’s Coordinating Team and Circles, and more. One of the best ways to get to know people at Shallowford is through women’s small groups, Circles. Sharing, studying the Bible and worshiping together in small groups provide an opportunity to build relationships of mutual concern and support for each other, our church, and the world around us. We hope you will join one or more of your choice. We meet monthly from September to May. Or, you may find you would like to form a new circle. It only takes a handful of interested women joining together to form a group of fellowship, support, and service. To learn more about Shallowford Presbyterian Women, contact one of the Circle Leaders, Moderator, Cathy Palmer, or send an e-mail to [email protected].
We meet year-round for devotions, yoga, and social activities. Every month we change up our social activities to keep it fun. Twice a year we try to go on an overnight retreat for fellowship and spiritual growth. We are a group of ladies in our 20’s through 40’s that enjoy the community we find with each other. Join us for fun and fellowship! Contact Circle Leaders, Kimberly Lovingood or Elizabeth Harrell.
Sharing our Scriptures
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am in a member’s home where we nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study. Here we seek support for daily living and guidance to prioritize our lives. New members are always welcome. Contact Circle Leader Vaughn Dunnigan.
We meet for fellowship and Bible study on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Session Room, or in members’ homes. We are delighted to welcome visitors and new members. Contact Circle Leaders Hannah Weir or Barbara Reeves.
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month (the third Tuesday in November and December) at 10:00 am for in-depth Bible study, discussion, and fellowship. You are welcome to pack a sandwich and join us. Some months we meet in members’ homes and others we meet in the Youth Center. Contact Circle Leaders Wende Veeder or Melissa Nunn.
Mothers and Others
This circle brings women of all ages and backgrounds together for Bible study, fellowship, and lunch every third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am in the homes of members. Come and join us. Contact Circle Leaders Jan Ziegler or Cheryl Heenan.
