Join us in the Youth Center on Sunday night as Isaac leads us in some tricky trivia. This is a great evening to bring a friend--all are welcome!
Get ready for some F-U-N at Funtime Bowl. We will gather at the church and carpool down to Funtime Bowl on Buford Highway. We will enjoy a couple games and some pizza before carpooling back to Shallowford for pickup. We need carpool drivers and chaperones. Cost is $15 which covers shoes, 2 games of bowling, and a pizza dinner.
This fall you are invited to a 90-minute seminar, Loss of a Spouse, offered for people grieving a spouse's death. It will be held Monday, October 1 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at no cost. Everyone who attends will receive a booklet with over 30 short readings on how to live with grief and eventually rebuild your life. For more information, call Laura Jernigan.

We are excited to return to Callaway Gardens this year for our 4th Annual Congregational Retreat. Our retreat will be on a new weekend, October 5 though October 7, 2018. Special speaker, Jenelle Holmes, will join us as she shares and explores the Generations in the Church.
Come join RoadRunners, our older adult ministry, for an outing on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, to the Mandir Hindu Temple in Lilburn, Georgia. Following the tour, we will have lunch at the 1910 Public House. The bus leaves the Shallowford parking lot at 9:30 am and should return by 2:30 pm. Cost is $5 for the bus, with lunch on your own. Members of all ages are invited to join us for the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's 5K Walk/Run at Kennesaw University on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Help raise both awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s by joining the Shallowford Survivors Team, registering for the race, or making a donation. For more information, contact Ann King.
Shallowford proudly supports the annual Winship Win the Fight 5K on October 13, 2018, at Emory University. Help raise money for innovative cancer research and support our Shallowford member, Mike Thames. #FightLikeMike
Join us after 11:00 am Worship for a Churchwide Lunch. No reservations are required for lunch. Lunch is $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for children, and a $25.00 family maximum.
The Shallowford Presbyterian Church Youth invite the youth to a Pumpkin Party. Pumpkin Carving will be in the Great Hall from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018. We will carve, paint, decorate, and show off our pumpkins together. All you need to bring is a pumpkin and your carving tools!
Meet us in the Shallowford Presbyterian Church parking lot Saturday, October 27, 2018, for this neighborhood-friendly tradition! Come in your best Halloween attire, collect candy and play fun games. Celebrate Stewardship Sunday on October 28, 2018, at Pigs on Fire, Shallowford’s annual all-church BBQ lunch! Following 11:00 am worship, all are invited into the Great Hall for a feast of homemade side dishes, meats, and treats! Invite a friend and bring a side to share.
Our sixth through eighth graders will enjoy fellowship, friendship, worship and fun alongside other youth groups from the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. We are excited to be at the Calvin Center this year. Cost is $100. Scholarships are available. Please register by Monday, October 1, 2018.
Three-year-olds through fifth graders are invited for a night of games, movies, and crafts Friday, November 9, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Children will meet on the third floor. This year we will provide a pizza dinner for children at an additional cost ($15), or you can choose to send your child with a sack lunch ($10). The decision is yours! Save the date for our annual community Christmas concert and sing-along Sunday, December 9, 2018, at 4:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The concert will feature over 150 Shallowford voices, orchestra, and a featured guest singer!
Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in September 2017 and is regarded as being the worst natural disaster on record to affect Dominica and Puerto Rico. This Spring Break, Shallowford High School students have an incredible opportunity to mobilize and help our neighbors in a time of great need through Experience Mission. Leave your electronics at home and share your Spring Break to pour out God's love!
As your youth enters one of the poorest parts in the United States, they will see not much has changed in the 50 years. They will invest in outreach projects and tackle home repair projects for families in need. Many of the homes leftover from the coal industry era are in desperate need of repairs families cannot afford. With such positive reviews from last year, we will be unplugging and disconnecting electronically for the week!
Join us this summer on our annual trip to the Montreat Youth Conference. Throughout the week, we will hear great speakers and preachers, participate in energizers and recreation, and have fellowship in small groups and fellowship. Montreat Youth Conference clears space for encountering God, discovering and deepening a vibrant and durable faith in Jesus Christ, and hearing an invitation to make a personal commitment to embody the love, justice and righteousness of Christ.
