Welcome to Shallowford Children’s ministry! We are delighted to have you join our safe, nurturing environment for children from newborn through 5th grade. We seek to help the children in our care grow in their faith, guided by God’s love. At Shallowford, our children are active participants in the whole church, nurtured by the love and care of many faithful adult volunteers and staff. There is always something happening for both parents and children.

Sunday School

Sunday school classes are typically divided by age: Toddlers & Two-Year-Olds, Three-Year-Olds & PreKindergarten, and Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Sunday school is offered from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and is led by a team of faithful adult volunteers.

Childcare

God’s love for our children is reflected in the care and nurture the children receive in our infant and toddler nurseries. A team of professional caregivers and trained volunteers care for children in the nursery suite located adjacent to the sanctuary. Childcare is available on Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages three and younger.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School – Canceled (Update 4.27.20)
After much discussion, and with sincere sadness, we have decided to cancel 2020 Vacation Bible School to ensure the safety of all participants and volunteers.

Each summer, Shallowford hosts Cokesbury’s week-long Vacation Bible School for children age three (and potty trained) through rising 5th graders. The children learn about God, our world, and one another. We also look for volunteers to help us. For those of you 12 and older, you can be involved, too! Whatever your gifts and availability, we would love to have your help. Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 15, 2020 to June 19, 2020.  Registration will be open in February 2020.
